Not directly, because Wahoo offers no link to Garmin Connect: you either download each ride’s FIT file from the Wahoo app and import it on the Garmin Connect website, or you let an app read your Wahoo account and upload the rides for you. Either way the ride arrives as a file, and only rides that Wahoo keeps with a file can make the trip.
Does Wahoo connect to Garmin Connect itself?
No. Wahoo’s page Share an activity to a third party app, updated on 24 October 2026 and read on 30 October 2026, lists 14 partners you authorise in the Wahoo app and 15 that connect from their own side; Garmin Connect is in neither list. Garmin’s list of partner platforms names “Wahoo”, but without a device or a way in; what that means for your training metrics is a separate question, answered in do Wahoo ELEMNT rides count toward Garmin training load?
How do I move a single ride by hand?
Download the file from Wahoo and import it at Garmin. Wahoo’s page above gives the steps in the Wahoo app:
- Open the History tab.
- Find the ride.
- Select the three dots in the upper right corner of its summary.
- Select Share activity.
- Select Download .fit activity and save the file.
Then import the file on the Garmin Connect website, with the steps from how to import a FIT file into Garmin Connect. Our own reference ride from a Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM, 51.8 km, is 227’041 bytes, far below Garmin’s import limit. By hand works for a few rides; for every ride it means these steps each time.
How do apps do it automatically?
They read your Wahoo account and upload a file per ride to Garmin Connect. Which apps say they read Wahoo and write to Garmin Connect, and at what price, is in RunGap alternatives for Garmin Connect. Nabe works this way too: with reads on for Wahoo and writes on for Garmin Connect, each new ride that Wahoo has with a file goes to Garmin Connect, after a check that Garmin does not already have it. The rule for that check, tested on 587 real rides, is in how to avoid duplicate rides.
What did matching our own Wahoo history show?
That an app first has to know what Garmin already has. On 27 September 2026 Nabe had loaded 230 Wahoo rides from our own account. After a fresh install of Nabe 1.0, the Wahoo history loaded before Garmin Connect was connected, and all 238 Wahoo rides it then held stayed “unknown”: Nabe compares only against the part of Garmin’s list it has loaded, and nothing loaded Garmin’s list for the older rides afterwards. Version 1.0.1 loads Garmin’s list over the whole history once Garmin is connected, and until then the dashboard says how many rides are not yet matched instead of “All in sync: no ride from your sources is missing in Garmin.”
The number to compare grew with every ride, which is why a sync tool has to match the whole history against Garmin, not only the latest page:
| Our Wahoo history in Nabe | Rides | When |
|---|---|---|
| Loaded from Wahoo | 230 | 27 September 2026 |
| Not yet matched with Garmin | 238 | after the fresh install of Nabe 1.0 |
What about Wahoo entries without a file?
They cannot go to Garmin Connect, because there is nothing to upload. On 27 September 2026, 4 of the 30 workouts on the first page of our own Wahoo account came with a file address, and of 231 Wahoo entries in our history, 32 came with the workout summary that holds it. Nabe takes an entry without a file into its list with the values Wahoo reports and marks it for Garmin as skipped with the reason “no file at Wahoo”. Such an entry does not stop the rest of the Wahoo run.
What if a ride synced but seems missing?
Then it is a different question. Checks for a ride that left Wahoo but cannot be found in Garmin Connect, from Garmin’s processing delay of about two minutes in our measurement to a different name, are in Wahoo ride not showing in Garmin Connect.
